Privacy
The site works without cookies. The only cookies it can set are Google Analytics ones, and only if you click Accept. Here's everything it collects.
Google Analytics
I use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to see which pages people read. If you accept, it sets cookies to recognise repeat visits. If you say no, no analytics cookies are set, and Google only receives basic, cookieless signals (the page, the time, your browser type) that it uses to estimate visits without identifying you. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. Advertising and personalisation storage is always set to denied. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
Page counts
Separately, when a page loads the server adds one to a counter for that page and that day. That's all it stores: the date, the page and the number. No IP address, no cookie, nothing that identifies you.
Crawler log
Visits from known search engine and AI crawlers (Googlebot, Bingbot, ChatGPT-User, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and similar) are logged with their user agent, IP address, the page and the time, so I can check them against the IP ranges those companies publish. Totals are shown on the lab page. Ordinary visitors aren't logged.
Newsletter
If you sign up, I store your email address, the date and the page you signed up from. It's used only to send the jhonty.md newsletter. It isn't sold or shared. You can leave at any time from any email, or ask me to delete it by messaging me on LinkedIn.
Where it's kept
The site runs on Render and the page counts, crawler log and newsletter list sit in a Turso database hosted in the EU (Ireland). Analytics data is held by Google.
