~/about.md
I'm Jhonty. I treat search like an engineering problem.
I trained as a mechanical engineer and ended up in search. I co-founded SEO Engico with Priyam, and we do B2B SEO and link building that gets measured on revenue rather than rankings.
Over seven years we've placed 65,904 links by hand, for 190+ clients and more than 20 agency partners. 94% of them are still live at twelve months. Working at that volume means I see the same patterns across hundreds of sites, and that's most of what ends up on this blog.
Alongside the client work I build the software that runs the business: our client portal, our reporting pipeline, Gafferly (a CRM for UK trades) and AEO Auditor, an open source tool that scores how well AI agents can read a site.

## What I cover
Every place people search
SEO, AEO and GEO are labels for the same job: being the answer wherever someone looks. These are the six places I write about.
Search engines
The classic results pages, and everything Google and Bing now put around the ten blue links.
AI assistants
Answers instead of links. They search, read a few pages, then decide who gets mentioned.
Video and social
Where people search to see it first: how-tos, reviews and people they already follow.
Communities
Real people answering real questions, and a source search engines and AI assistants now pull from.
Maps and local
"Near me" searches, reviews, and the directories and list sites that rank for "best in town".
Marketplaces and app stores
Search with a buy button attached. Every store ranks on its own signals.
Work with SEO Engico
